Thanks to Ms. McKay and Ms. Adams for setting up such a wonderful project for the class, the Fire & Rescue Department came to the school to receive the stuffed animals, for them to give to children caught in traumatic situations that they may come in counter with when they go on call. The students enjoyed checking out the fire and rescue vehicles, and we additionally thrilled when Fox Channel 30 News came out to cover the event! |

THE OLYMPIC TORCH REACHES JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA! DECEMBER 7TH, 2001! Mrs. Florida attended the Olympic Torch events in Jacksonville, starting at the Jacksonville Landing at 7:30 AM! The Olympic Flame arrived in town by a Coast Guard Boat. There were Welcoming Ceremonies held, which included Cammie singing the National Anthem! The torch was first carried through Jacksonville by Mike Orsa, a fire fighter from Ground Zero in New York. Once the torch was on its way through town, the local CBS News stopped to interview Cammie before she made her way to her torch route! |

Cammie was a Support Runner who was nominated by her husband, Kevin Sanders, through the Coca-Cola Website! She reported to her "shuttle" and met the other torchbearers and support runners. Once the Olympic Torch was ignited, Cammie ran along side with Hill, Delores, and Ruthie. Mrs. Florida even got to hold the torch with the flame (from Greece) still lit! |
