The Miss & Teen Jacksonville / First Coast Pageants 2004 were held on Saturday & Sunday, March 13th and 14th, 2004 at the Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville, and it was a festive "Country Nights" themed pageant weekend. This "Miss" pageant is an official local Miss America Preliminary Pageant which is funded by the North Florida Scholarship Organization. The new Miss Jacksonville 2004 is Erin Lancaster, from Orange Park, a Junior at Florida State University, with incredible operatic vocal skills. The new Miss First Coast 2003 is Amy Ferguson, from Brandon, a Senior at the University of Florida, and quite a lively tap dancer. Both ladies will represent our city/area at the Miss Florida Pageant in June of 2004 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Finalists included 1st Runner Up - Jessica Minch, 2nd Runner Up - Erin Schreiber, 3rd Runner Up - Natalie Deans, and 4th Runner Up - Davina Wilkinson. The Executive Director's Award went to Jessica Ross, and the Pageantry Spirit Award went to Jennifer Santana. All finalists received cash scholarships for college, and Miss Jacksonville and Miss First Coast specifically received a $1,000.00 scholarship each and an extensive list of prizes, and will represent our area in the Miss Florida Pageant in June in St. Petersburg, Florida. For the fourth year, this pageant included a TEEN competition, which yielded Miss Jacksonville Teen 2004, Ashley Phinazee, a Junior at West Nassau High School, who performed a vocal number in the competition. For the first time, the title of Miss First Coast Teen 2004 was added and the recipient of that title is Sydney Keister, a Freshman at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts who performed a lyrical dance as her talent. The finalists for the teen competition were 1st Runner Up - Tierra Green-Lockett and 2nd Runner Up - Meredith Tinman. The Executive Director's Award went to Ashiya Prince, and the Pageantry Spirit Award went to Katie Raiford. The two teen titleholders received an amazing prize package and will represent Jacksonville and the First Coast at the Miss Florida Teen Pageant on May 1st in St. Petersburg, Florida. All four titleholders will make appearances and will entertain throughout Jacksonville and North Florida area. They will be ambassadors for the Jacksonville and North Florida area, for the pageant, and for their platforms and their community service.
