This pageant is produced by a non-profit organization, the North Florida Scholarship Organization, Inc., which provides the scholarships for the pageant and a support system for its winners. The Executive Directors of the Miss Jacksonville/Miss First Coast Scholarship Pageant are Kevin & Cammie Sanders. However, it takes many volunteers, sponsors, and supporters to make this pageant possible. This pageant got it start approximately 1955 thanks to the Jacksonville Jaycees. From 1986 to 2001, Ruth Sidbury had this franchise with the Miss Florida Pageant. In 2002 and 2003, Cammie Sanders and Royal Jo Johnson lead the pageant, and now in 2004, Kevin & Cammie Sanders are Co-Executive Directors and the first Husband & Wife team to do so. This pageant is proud to provide scholarships to many of its participants and to be an opportunity to help young women develop their community service and involvement. |
