The Miss Jacksonville Scholarship Pageant is held in Jacksonville, Florida and is a preliminary to Miss Florida Pageant in the Miss America Pageant System. The Miss Jacksonville Teen America Pageant takes place on the same pageant evening and is only a local title. Our next pageant will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 2002! |

This pageant is produced by the Jacksonville Scholarship Foundation,
Inc., a non-profit organization which provides the scholarships for
the pageant and a support system for its winners. The President of the
Foundation is Ruth Sidbury, the Vice President is Kevin Sanders, and its directors are
Cammie
Sanders, Royal Jo Johnson, Kevin Cannon, and Deborah Prado.
The Executive Directors of the Miss Jacksonville Scholarship Pageant are Cammie Sanders and Royal Jo Johnson. However, it takes many volunteers, sponsors, and supporters to make this pageant possible. This pageant got it start approximately 1955 thanks to the Jacksonville Jaycees. From 1986 to 2001, Ruth Sidbury has had this franchise with the Miss Florida Pageant. Now starting in 2002, Cammie Sanders and Royal Jo Johnson are leading the pageant. |

The first judged portion of the competition is the "Interview Competition" which accounts for 30% of the contestant's overall score. |

The evening of the pageant includes the other phases of competition, which are swimsuit (15%), talent (40%), and evening gown (15%). |
It's pageant night and everyone is ready for the opening number. As you can probably tell, the contestants, emcees, dancers, and Miss First Coast 2000, Kelly Whitehead, are all ready for their "Vacation" (the theme of the pageant). |

The next
pageant will be held at the Florida Theatre on Saturday, February 9th,
2002 at 7PM, and we look forward to crowning Miss
Jacksonville 2002, as well as having a "Teen"
competition and crowning a Miss
Jacksonville Teen America 2002! We are no
longer accepting contestants' applications for the 2002 pageant, but
please do contact us to be in the 2003 competition!
The interview competition will be held the evening before the pageant (2/8/02) at a location to be announced. Rehearsals are mandatory and are at 2PM on the three Sunday afternoons prior to the pageant. The final dress rehearsal is the same morning as the pageant (2/9/02), approximately 9AM to 1:30 PM.
